Antique Corona 3 portable and foldable typewriter in original case.
The Corona 3 was manufactured in the USA by the Corona Typewriter Company Inc between 1912 and 1941. This particular typewriter was retailed by Thrale & Beaumont, Kingway, London.
The serial number is 406381 which appears to date the manufacture to the early 1920s.
The carriage was designed to fold forward to enable it to fit within the carry case. The 1920s answer to the laptop computer perhaps!
In clean working condition. Each key has 3 different positions. All strike and mark as expected (see image 14).
As a guide, the case dimensions (excluding the handle) are 28.5 cm x 25 cm x 12 cm. A nice small size, perfect as a decorative piece.
