Antique Herb Chopper +

An antique herb chopping board and blade along with another piece of kitchenalia. Possible a chopping board, butter pat or paddle.

Unknown age but the wear and patina suggest it is an early date, perhaps Victorian.

The knife pivots from the brass fulcrum to enable an accurate and  rapid chopping motion. Although still very sharp, the cutting edge has a number of nicks. The fulcrum would need slight tightening if intended for use. Whilst still perhaps usable, it is offered here as a decorative piece.

The board has an attractive patina and is 'dished' in the main cutting area due to use over time. Please see images.

The other piece clearly has age and has been crudely shaped for domestic use possibly as a butter pat or paddle.

Chopping board 137mm x 118mm x 20mm (35mm raised edge). Knife from fulcrum to end of the handle 245mm.

Butter paddle 380mm x 45mm x 15mm
