Antique collectable biscuit tin from Huntley & Palmer
Antique Huntley & Palmer Biscuit Tin
An antique collectable tin from one of the most famous biscuit makers, Huntley & Palmer. Made in the form of a belted library of books, this example is from one of a series of several different 'library' tin designs produced by Huntley & Palmer.
Dates from circa 1910.
In good condition for its age but has obvious signs of age and use. The spine of two 'books' have small 'dings' which could probably be pushed out. Paint loss and 'tarnishing' to the metal surfaces is obvious but expected for such metal items. Unfortunately the metal tab for opening the tin is absent. The hinge still operates smoothly and the lid is easily opened and closed.
Sold as an antique decorative item with social history for collection and/or display.
Dimensions approx: 16 cm x 16 cm x 12 cm.
