Antique Miniature Tinplate Safe
An antique (believed late 19th C) tinplate toy safe by Charles Rossignol (CR) of France. Similar listed by Bonhams last year.
Charles Rossignol was a manufacturer of tinplate toys in France from 1868.
Made from tinplate, painted black with gold details, the safe has a two wheel combination lock in working order. The combination will be supplied to the buyer but it does not take a mathematician to know there can only be 99 possible combinations!
Whilst there has been significant paint loss, the safe is in otherwise good condition.
Dimensions approx: H 24 cm, W 14 cm, D 9 cm.
