A group of four antique painted wooden 'shop' letters.
Interchangeable to spell RING, GRIN or GIN or any other permutation desired. The letters have been re-painted on several occasions over the years with several layers visible below the top yellow layer.
In superb 'distessed' condition. The wood below is sound, except for a few minor losses at the edges and where holes have been made. There is obvious paint shrinkage but is not loose.
Difficult to age but I would estimate, early 20th century or earlier.
As a guide the letters are all 23 cm (9 inches) high. Widths obviously vary but N is approx 20 cm wide.
