Vintage British Rail carriage door sign and roller blind.
I am not an expert but can recall these signs on rolling stock from perhaps the 1950s. The wooden header, has the standard warning on passenger opening doors (sometimes with only an external handle, so the window had to be opened to access) not to get your head knocked off! The warning applied when the train was between stations.
The blind appears to be made from a soft plastic/leatherette type of fabric embossed with the BR logo in an oval. The roller has a 'return' spring which seems to be working.
Clean but with some evidence of its age and usage over time.
Approximate dimensions: Wooden header 58.5cm x 6.7cm. Blind 90cm x 50cm.
