Vintage Enamel Sign - NCB - Fire Danger
A vintage enamel sign in very nice condition. A really nice decorative piece of our industrial heritage.
My research indicates, The National Coal Board (NCB) was in existence between 1946 and 1987. Apart from the obvious mining activities, they engaged in extensive tree planting initiatives, originally for pit prop manufacture and later for, among other reasons, land restoration and safety reasons.
The warning is perhaps very pertinent and topical at the present time. Despite the warning nature of the sign, the visual image is very pleasing and impactful.
Enamel on a heavy gauge steel.
Dimensions (approx.) 21" x 15" (53.3cm x 38cm)
