Louis Marx tinplate army truck and field gun
Marx Tinplate Truck & Field Gun
A remarkably well preserved example of a Louis Marx & Co Ltd tinplate Royal Artillery lorry and field gun. Displays the Regimental motto of the Royal Regiment of Artillery.
Although a U.S. company, Louis Marx had manufacturing plants in the UK. This model was made in Swansea in the 1950s.
It is very unusual to find the lorry and field gun in such good condition. There is a small ding/scuff to the cab roof. The canvas cover has not survived so well. It has frayed to one side making it not easily repairable whilst keeping sufficient size to fit as intended.
Dimensions have been measured as follows:
Lorry: Length 33cm Width (max) 12.5cm Height (top of cab) 11cm
Field Gun (Max): Length 22cm Width 7cm Height 10cm
