Mid 20th Century Road Sign
A mid 20th Century metal British road sign with light reflectors to the bridge (some damaged).
A 'Pre-Worboys' sign (before 1965). The sign would have been displayed with a red triangle above. After 1965, standardised 'modern' signs were introduced.
This sign has benefitted from a repaint at some point. The back has an aluminium plate adhered but there is no evidence of a crack or weak point so I assume it had another purpose. The bridge is fixed (glued or welded?) to the main sign and has been further secured by four newish small bolts. On the back, original fixtures are apparent below the paint.
