Shop Delivery Bicycle Sign
A painted metal double-sided advertising sign. This would have been attached to the frame of a delivery bicycle between the crossbar and pedals. A popular form of advertising during the early and mid 20th century when local deliveries were commonplace.
Note the early telephone number 'Wembley 4102'.
Evidence of age and usage over time, including scratches, paint loss, rusting etc. . Actual age unknown but probably first half of the 20th century. The business 'Crescent Fruiterers' survives elsewhere in London.
