Tri-ang Pull-along Toy
A Tri-ang (Lines Bros) toy pull-along horse and rider. Offered for sale as a collectable decorative item.
Made from painted laminated wood (Ply) on a metal base with metal and rubber 'disc' wheels.
In very nice condition for its age. Estimated to be 1950s at the latest. Disc wheels were a common feature on toys made by Tri-ang prior to WW2, so may date to 1930/40s.
The axels are 'offset' to produce, when pulled along, movement mimicking that of a horse and rider (see images).
There is evidence of age and use. The rubber tyres has some minor cracking, there is minor surface losses and scratches. There is some lateral movement of the horse and rider with the base. I have shown the extent of movement in the final two images. Despite this, the horse and rider does sit upright when positioned so, and operates as intended when pulled along. A piece of cord or string will need to be attached if intended for use as a toy.
