Tri-ang Bedford series tipper truck with metal milk churns
Tri-ang Truck & Milk Churns
A Tri-ang Bedford tipper truck with six metal milk churns in nice condition for their age. Obvious signs of age and use are present. Please see the images provided. Further images are available on request.
The Bedford series was made by Tri-ang (Lines Bros) between 1937 and 1956. The truck is made from pressed steel. The 'cut-outs' to the chassis, as shown in the images, indicate that this example is post WW2. Due to the difficulty in obtaining metal for toy making after the war, Tri-ang reduced the amount of metal used in each model by removing sections from the chassis.
Please note; I believe the churns are made from a metal alloy which contains lead. The churn lids are absent.
The combination of an old red truck and the milk churns makes for a striking decorative piece.
The truck dimensions are approx. Length 48 cm. Height to top of cab 17 cm. Width 18cm. The churns are 95mm high (3 3/4" in old money!)
I am open to offers for the truck and churns as separate purchases. Please make enquiries using the contact page on this site or by emailing tradingantiques23@gmail.com.
