Vintage AA Sign

A vintage cast iron AA sign. Believed to have been produced for AA sentry and phone boxes from the mid 1920s to 1950s. Images can be found on line showing the same attached to wooden sentry boxes.

The casting is still in good order with no losses except the distinctive yellow paint. Remnants of the yellow paint are still present on some of the less exposed edges. The glass plate to the base of the sign is in tact but has only feint traces of the word 'Phone' which would have indicated its purpose to the early 20th century association members.
