Vintage Ammunition Boxes
Two heavy and solidly constructed wooden ammunition boxes. Possibly WW1 but the origin and date of maufacture is not certain.
There is obvious signs of age and use. Since any military action, it seems likely the boxes have been used in an industrial setting. Please see images.
The rope handles are assumed to be original. Only one box has the brass strips to the base. Dovetail joints to all corners are strengthened with the brass corner plates.
Dimensions approx (each box): 51.5 cm (56 cm including wooden handle blocks) x 22 cm x 23 cm.
