Vintage Tinplate Toy
A mechanical gravity tinplate toy made in Germany probably circa 1930s - Gustav the busy Miller by Lehmann's.
To operate, the 'bag of flour' is attach to a hook at the top of the pole (the mill). The weight of the sack on the hook allows the miller to climb and turn the sails and wind the mechanism. The miller's head collects the sack and allows the mechanism to unwind enabling Gustav to go down.
In working condition. Good condition for its age but with evidence of age and use as shown in the images.
The base and windmill sails fold for storage. Unfortunately no box.
Height 42 cm to the top of the mill. A maximum of 47.5 cm including the sail in upright position.
